People leave people, not companies. So why aren't we helping managers where it matters most?

Putting your team first isn't the soft option. It's how teams perform.

Companies say people are their greatest asset. But the employee's everyday experience of work is shaped almost entirely by their manager. Better-understood teams are better-managed teams, and better-managed teams do better work. AskECHO isn't an alternative to performance. It's a route to it.

People → Team → Performance

Why we built it

You're only ever as good as your team.

We're old friends who met through hockey, and between us we've played and coached it at international level, sat on boards, built businesses and run summer schools with two hundred staff. Sport teaches you one thing early: a manager isn't hired to be clever, they're hired to make the team win, and the ones who do it with one squad often can't with the next, because the people are different. In business we watched organisations buy long, expensive personality tests, profile everyone, and leave the reports on a shelf while managers carried on guessing. We wanted the opposite: something a manager can read once and use the same morning, about the particular people in front of them. No certificate, no jargon, no score. Just the next conversation, done a bit better.

We're commercial and practical, and we're at the point in life where we get to choose what we work on and who with. We chose this because we think the everyday manager is the most under-supported person in most organisations, and because seven children between us have taught us more about managing people than any course.

Recognition

Working Better Together with AskECHO

AskECHO doesn't grade managers or hand out awards. It recognises something simpler and more honest: that you are actively taking the time to understand your team, use the insight, and listen through Team Reflection. Managers who do that can show it, first for themselves, and in time for their organisation.

Recognises what you do, not a score of who you are.
